We are sooooo close...
Here we go! We are just a little less than three days from take off! Can you believe it?! While it may not seem like yesterday that we were holding our first team meeting, or talking about the impact of the AIDS epidemic in the Kwa Zulu Natal region of South Africa, or selling biscuits, it does feel as though the last 6 months have flown by. One of the awesome perks of my job is that I get to see students mature in a very short period of time. While I feel that each of our students has matured greatly since October, I believe it pales in comparison to what God wants to do in each of our hearts during the 9 days of this trip. Anytime I begin to think about our students maturing, I cannot help but be drawn to Philippians chapter 2. What an incredible chapter of scripture. I would like to make it our prayer this week and next. I pray that we would take Paul's advice and have, "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God...made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servant...he humbled himself and became obedient." As well as to, "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life." Lord, may we shine as only the light of the world can, may your word be held out so that others may receive it, may you who came as a servant, be served. Here we go.
